Troon has been selected to manage Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf, the managment company’s first course in Aruba.
Located on more than 550 acres on the island’s northern coastline, Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf lifestyle resort community offers both homeownership and rental opportunities. It features the island’s only 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. The course design integrates the natural elements of the wind, sea and earth, drawing on inspiration from courses in Scotland, Scottsdale and the Caribbean.
Oliver Riding will return as director of golf operations, after holding a leadership position with Troon in Acapulco at Turtle Dunes Country Club for the past three years. He previously served as head golf professional at Tierra del Sol for seven years.
“Tierra del Sol is a magnificent property located on the extremely unique and desirable destination of Aruba,” Jim Bellington, Troon’s senior vice president, operations and development, said in a news release.
Tierra del Sol, which is recently under new ownership, has several changes in the pipeline including the construction of a five-star hotel, new real estate ownership opportunities and many improvements to the existing golf, villa rental, food & beverage and clubhouse operations.
The golf facility features a full length practice range, putting and chipping areas, a clubhouse with a golf shop, a restaurant, swimming pool and master planned real estate community consisting of villas, condominiums, estate lots, custom homes and Aruba’s first fractional ownership property, Anabui.
Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., Troon is the world’s largest golf management company, with 239 18-hole equivalent golf courses in its portfolio. The company oversees operations at Troon Golf, Honours Golf and Troon Privé properties located in 36 states and 28 countries.
