Birmingham, Ala.-based Honours Golf, a subsidiary of Troon, has been selected by The Bluffs Renaissance, LLC to provide club management and agronomic services for The Bluffs on Thompson Creek. The semi-private club is located outside of Baton Rouge, in St. Francisville, La.
Established in 1988, The Bluffs on Thompson Creek features an 18-hole Arnold Palmer signature design golf course located within a 300-home, master-planned community in the West Feliciana Parish of Louisiana. Stretching more than 7,100 yards, this championship course plays through rolling hills, dense hardwood forests, creeks and bluffs.
“As new owners and residents of The Bluffs, we wanted to give our club and community the best chance we could for making The Bluffs on Thompson Creek the great destination venue that Arnold Palmer anticipated more than 27 years ago,” Ken Carter said in a news release, partner of The Bluffs Renaissance, LLC. "I do believe that The Bluffs on Thompson Creek can become one of the finest golf destinations in the country, if not the world. We believe that Honours and Troon can make that happen."
At the centerpiece of The Bluffs is its West Indie style clubhouse that is situated at the highest point of the property overlooking the golf course and Thompson Creek. The spacious clubhouse features two dining options including The 19th Hole and The Palmer Room.
In addition, The Bluffs on Thompson Creek features indoor and outdoor banquet space in the main clubhouse and cottage for events including business meetings to weddings. It also has two outdoor swimming pools, a children’s swim area, a fitness center, two tennis courts and scenic walking trails.
“The Bluffs on Thompson Creek has been consistently rated one of the top courses in Louisiana and we are honored to be given the opportunity to manage the club,” Bob Barrett said in the release, chief executive officer of Honours Golf. “Our management, customer service and agronomic practices will help to enhance and elevate The Bluffs to a new level of excellence.”
Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., Honours Golf was acquired by Troon in 2014 and operates as a subsidiary of the global brand. Honours Golf currently operates 18 daily fee and private club facilities. The company has plans to grow the Honours Golf brand through third-party management.
