Billy Casper Golf, the fifth largest golf management company in the world and third largest in the U.S., has been selected to manage The Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, Fla.
BCG will direct membership sales, tennis, sports and fitness programming, golf course operations, restaurant services, merchandising, financial management and staffing.
The company’s BGC Private division will oversee club operations, including the club’s three golf courses, its tennis program, state-of-the-art fitness center, junior Olympic-sized pool and restaurants.
“Partnering with Billy Casper Golf was a no-brainer; its professionalism and attention to detail are unmatched,” The Meadows President Gordon Cummings said in a news release. “We look forward to the repositioning and revitalization of The Meadows so it is once again recognized as one of the premier private clubs in Sarasota.”
Led by industry veteran Frank Denniston, BCG senior vice president, the BCG Private team will leverage the company’s lifestyle-focused platform to manage The Meadows. New sales and special event programming will be put in place by the national and local sales teams.
“Our team is eager to take this respected Country Club and mold it into a ‘must-join’ for Sarasota residents,” Denniston said in the release. “Here’s to returning the club to its glory days, instilling fun and making it even more attractive as a social hub.”
The club includes three 18-hole courses including the Meadows Course designed by Ron Garl, Highlands Course designed by Francis J. Duane and the Groves Course designed by Arthur Hills.
Meadows Course is a 6,716-yard, par-72, members-only course. The 6,669-yard, par-72 Highlands Course is now open to the public. The Grove Course measures 3,852-yard, par-63 Groves Course.
The club also has a 5,000 square-foot fitness center with many amenities including: free weights, exercise machine, a pool with water aerobics classes, yoga, cardio and flexibility classes.
Headquartered in Reston, Va., founded more than 25 years ago in cooperation with the late golf legend Billy Casper, the company is one of the largest owner-operator of private, public, resort and residential golf properties in the U.S. with more than 150 in 29 states. Its has 154.5 18-hole equivleent courses in its portfolio.
