The city of Longview, Wash., is seeking an operator for Mint Valley Golf Course.
The facility, which opened in 1976, features an 18-hole, Ron Fream-designed golf course and a six-hole, par-3 track. Rounds and revenues have declined in recent years, partly as a result of economic hard times and partly due to deferred maintenance. (Various upgrades, including a new irrigation system, are planned.) Also, the complex’s greens fees haven’t been increased since 2010.
The city is offering a five-year contract that begins in January 2014. It’ll oversee the course maintenance while the new operator does the rest.
