Reston National Golf Club and Buffalo Creek Golf Club are the two newest properties for the management company

KemperSports continues to add to its portfolio, adding two properties that were previously managed by competitors. The management company recently added an 18-hole championship course, Reston National Golf Course, to its list of properties and Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwell, Texas.

“Reston National is a wonderful golf course in a great community,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to enhancing the customer experience at every level and making Reston National a must-play in the region.”

Reston National, which is located in northern Virginia and sits on the Chesapeake Bay watershed, has been the subject of speculation since 2012 when the then-owner asked if it could develop housing on the property. Residents waged a campaign to prevent such development, which put them at odds with the ownership team, which included the then-manager, Billy Casper Golf.

That ownership team sold Reston National in May 2019 to a developer and investment firm, which renewed speculation about its future.

Additionally, back in June, KemperSports was retained to provide management services at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Rockwell, Texas. American Golf managed the course and closed it in March when the Coronavirus pandemic hit. It was developed by Charles Perry and is owned by his descendents.

“Buffalo Creek has a rich history in the Dallas community,” Skinner said. “We look forward to working with the Perry family to bring prominence and attention to such a high-quality property in the Dallas market. Our team will be focused on upgrading the customer experience, improving course conditions, enhancing local marketing efforts and developing relationships within the community to promote the golf experience at Buffalo Creek Golf Club.”

KemperSports oversaw the reopening of the course. As part of the relationship, KemperSports will improve guest service and overall customer satisfaction and enhance golf course conditions.

The course has already implemented plenty of changes since it’s soft reopening this summer. Among those changes are to follow state and federal guidelines on ensuring that golfers are safe while playing at the course due to COVID-19 concerns. But the goal of KemperSports and the Perry Family is to be more, to be the best club.

“Our goal is to make Buffalo Creek Golf Club a successful and integral part of the local community and reestablish the club as a must play in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro Plex,” Kevin McCollum, a representative for the Perry family said. “We couldn’t have chosen a better partner in KemperSports to set us on the path to become the leading club in our area,”
