A big name in real estate is partnering with Hampton Golf. Lennar Corporation is the nation’s largest home builder and has been one of the biggest developers of golf courses during the past 20 years. It is adding an 18-hole golf course to its Stillwater community in St. Johns County, Fla.

Hampton Golf, which manages golf courses and country clubs, will use its wealth of experience to create a first-class active adult lifestyle for Stillwater. The golf course will be designed by Bobby Weed and act as the center of the 556-home community.

“Lennar is known for great communities with first-class golf courses as a central amenity, said  M.G. Orender, president of Hampton and a former PGA of America president. “This is a milestone for the area, and it means a lot of growth and vitality for the game here in Northeast Florida. The timing couldn’t be better. Across every market, we’ve seen a tremendous resurgence in the game of golf. People are re-discovering how social, competitive and fun the sport is.”

Stillwater will be the first 18-hole golf course to be built in the area in more than a decade. It will also be the first active adult community with a golf course in Northeast Florida.

“Hampton Golf is the natural fit to bring Stillwater to life. Working with M.G. and the Palencia Club team, we witnessed firsthand the incredible experiences they create for communities,” said Matt Devereaux, division president for Lennar in North Florida. “We chose Hampton Golf because they cater to the entire active adult lifestyle — from the restaurant, the pool, tennis and more. Hampton Golf brings that expertise to manage all the amenities our buyers want and need, on or off the course.”
