KemperSports has been selected to manage The Bog Golf Course in Saukville, Wis. The daily-fee facility is under new ownership as of July 1 by the Milwaukee-Wis.-based Hammes family.

Milwaukee B & E Partners I LLC, an affiliate of development firm Hammes Co., Brookfield, purchased the course from John Taylor Golf Inc. for $1.99 million, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal

“Working closely with the ownership group, our goal will be to bring fresh ideas to the table while continuing to define a great golf experience,” KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner said in a news release.

After its premier in 1995, The Bog was quickly named as one of Golf Digest’s Top 10 Best New Courses of the Year. The 18-hole an Arnold Palmer Signature Designed public golf course routes through the terrain of the Cedarburg Bog, which includes woods, wetlands, rolling hills and native wildlife.

The Bog Golf Course will also have access to KemperClub, a business-to-consumer online marketing engine that connects golfers with events and promotions at Kemper-managed facilties.

“It’s a strategy to identify, connect and create a community of golfers that share the same value,” said Andrew Fleming, senior vice president of strategy and business affairs.

The club also features a full-service, 10,500 sq. ft. clubhouse with bar, restaurant, banquet space and a 50-acre practice center.

“We believe The Bog is one of the highest quality courses in Southeastern Wisconsin,” Ownership partner Mike Hammes said in a news release, “Through our partnership with KemperSports, we are confident that the facilities and course will be well cared for and maintained.”

Northbrook, Ill.-based KemperSports builds, owns and manages golf courses, resorts, athletic clubs and lodging venues across the U.S., Caribbean and Central America.
