The PGA Tour’s Tournament Players Club Network has added a new property, TPC Dorado Beach, located at Dorado Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, debuting this month. It is the first Puerto Rican course in the network and the third international property.

In 1958, Robert Trent Jones, Sr.’s designs, the East and West courses, opened for play at Dorado Beach Resort. The Sugarcane and Pineapple courses were added in 1972.

The recently updated East Course, a par-72 measuring 7,200 yards, will host the 2015 PGA Tour Latinòamerica Tour Championship Dec. 3-6. The Pineapple Course, a par-72 first built in 1972, is merging with the West Course, which is currently closed for renovations. Once renovations are complete, the resort will house a total 54-holes of golf at three 18-hole courses: the East Course, West Course and Sugarcane Course.

“The PGA TOUR is delighted to further the expansion of the TPC Network brand into the Caribbean with the addition of TPC Dorado Beach, located at a world-class family retreat with a rich, storied history,” Charlie Zink said in a news release, PGA TOUR co-chief operating officer. “We look forward to creating memorable experiences for our members and guests for years to come.”

In the last year, the TPC Network has expanded with the additions of TPC Cartagena in Colombia and TPC at Baha Mar in The Bahamas. TPC Dorado Beach is the 34th property in the TPC Network of Clubs. TPC Dorado Beach is part of the TPC Passport program, which offers reciprocal access to all private club members throughout the TPC Network.

There are three relationships a club can have with the TPC Network. Of the 34 properties, 11 are owned/operated by the TPC Network, nine are licensed/operated and 14 are licensed only. TPC Dorado Beach is a licensed property, meaning Dorado Beach Resort will remain as the course operator.

Honours Golf has added Piqua Country Club in Piqua, Ohio to its management portfolio. This is the first addition to the Honours Golf portfolio since Troon, the world’s largest management company, acquired Honours Golf in December 2014 as a subsidiary of the global brand. It is Honours Golf’s 17th managed property.

“We selected to partner with Honours Golf because of the company’s expertise and solid reputation in the club management industry,” said Benny Scott said, a Piqua Country Club Board Member in a news release. “Honours will be instrumental in helping us reinvent the club and elevate the overall member experience. Our golf course has always been in great shape and we know it will only get better with their agronomy team in place as the backbone to our maintenance program.”

The private non-equity club, located 25 miles north of Dayton, Ohio, was originally established in 1896, eight years after the first golf course opened in the United States. It features an 18-hole regulation golf course designed by Donald Ross and Jack Kidwell. Additionally, the club offers two dining options, a banquet facility and an outdoor swimming facility with an adult pool and children’s swim area.

Troon acquired Honours from its three owners, Barrett, Rob Shults and Bob Julian. Shults co-founded Honours with Barrett in 1998, but does not work for Troon. Barrett and Shults still own assets that are managed by Honours.

“This is a ‘family of brands’ strategy that gives us greater opportunities for growth,” Troon Golf CEO Dana Garmany said at the time of the Honours Golf acquisition. “This is an offering that will cast a wider net across a bigger swath of the industry.”

With the recent addition of Honours Golf’s 17 managed properties, Troon now oversees operations at more than 250 properties in 36 states and 27 countries.
